Expected Practice in Catholic Board Learning Plan: Guided Practice (e.g. Guided Instruction)
Literacy in Science:
"We realized that effective science instruction has to provide a balance of open interaction with phenomena, carefully designed hands-on experiences, and the structured and intentional use of oral and written language. We saw the benefits to student learning when they documented and recorded the work of their investigations, posed questions, and thought about and clarified their ideas. We recognize the importance of working with others, sharing and debating ideas as well as communicating with many different audiences."
